Born and raised in Villa Hills, Melissa is a lifelong northern Kentuckian with deep roots in this community. She has been blessed with a high-quality Kentucky private and public school education, attending St. Joseph Crescent Springs, Villa Madonna Academy, and Dixie Heights High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on Economics and Political Science at Northern Kentucky University and completed a master’s degree in Business Administration at Thomas More University while working full-time. She has been happily married for 27 years to her high school best friend, Andy. They live in Erlanger with their two wonderful sons, Sam and Josh, who are both proud Covington Catholic High School graduates.
She is currently a Director of Supply Chain Strategy for a global nutrition and agribusiness company, where she has worked for almost 27 years. Growing her career in a private flavor company before it was acquired by one of the largest food manufacturing companies in the world, she has gained valuable years of experience in many aspects and levels of the business. She knows that to be successful, it is critical to understand the needs of your customers and to determine how to meet those needs with the best quality products as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. You must also be able to unite different kinds of people towards a common goal in order to be successful. She firmly believes that these fundamental concepts are badly needed in today’s politics and government. We need government officials who will truly listen to and faithfully represent the voices of their customers– their constituents– and have a strong to desire to work hard for the good of all Americans. We need legislators who will put people over politics.
