Melissa has experienced firsthand the frustration and financial strain of navigating today’s complex healthcare system. She believes that every Kentuckian deserves access to affordable, high-quality care—from routine preventative care to highly specialized treatments—without facing crushing medical debt. Beyond the obvious health benefits, helping people get and stay healthy positively impacts our communities by reducing emergency and chronic disease management costs which, in turn, lowers insurance premiums, boosts productivity, and allows people to spend their hard-earned money on other things that help our economy. Melissa is committed to policies that prioritize accessibility, affordability, and evidence-based solutions to ensure better health outcomes for all.

Every child deserves access to a high-quality education that meets their individual needs. Drawing on more than a decade of experience volunteering as an academic team coach in Kentucky’s Governor’s Cup program, Melissa has seen firsthand how dedicated teachers and enrichment programs can inspire a lifelong love of learning. She is committed to ensuring that educators and schools across Kentucky receive the support and resources they need to help every student succeed.
Melissa believes that personal medical decisions should remain between patients and their healthcare providers—not politicians. She supports protecting reproductive rights at the federal level to ensure that access to care isn’t determined by geography. Melissa is committed to safeguarding and expanding comprehensive reproductive, maternal, and newborn healthcare, including access to IVF, birth control, and other essential services that must remain both accessible and affordable for all.
